Dominic Scriven, OBE, was recognised for his unique commitment to Vietnam and his vision in setting up Dragon Capital in 1994. He has lived in Vietnam since 1991 and speaks fluent Vietnamese, which he studied at Hanoi General University. Dragon is equally unique in its Vietnam and regional focus, its non-hierarchical structure, its freedom of ideas and its success. Set up in what was then a frontier market with an initial base of US$15m, it now manages funds in the value of $1.6bn.
