On 3 and 4 October 2019, the Australian Embassy and the Vietnam Bar Federation held the Loseby Lectures 2019 in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, respectively. These lectures are named in remembrance of Frank Loseby, a solicitor who acted for Ho Chi Minh in Hong Kong in the early 1930s. The events were organized with the support from Dragon Capital.
This year, the 5th “Loseby Lectures on the Rule of Law” were delivered by the Honourable Dr Tony Pagone, QC, President of the International Association of Judges and former Australian Federal Court judge. Dr Pagone spoke on “Powers of the State and the Rule of Law”. The lectures attracted over 390 lawyers, legal professionals, and law students at both sessions in Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City.
