Vietnam Resource Investments (Holdings) Limited, VRI

VRI is a closed-end investment company which was formed for the purpose of investing primarily in the securities of natural resource companies, whether or not located in Vietnam, which have significant operations in Vietnam. However, in view of matters such as credit constraints and changes in the sector climate in Vietnam, VRI shareholders passed a special resolution at the annual general meeting on 28 September 2010 to amend the investment objective to an orderly realisation of the Company’s assets.

Shares are listed on the Official List of the Luxembourg Stock Exchange and were admitted for trading on the regulated market of the Luxembourg Stock Exchange with effect from 6 August 2007. The Company is managed by the Investment Manager which is 100% owned by Dragon Capital. From mid-2008 the world's worst financial crisis in eighty years slammed the door shut on credit facilities and plunged the resources sector into an investment and valuation black hole, severely impacting the Company and its underlying investments.
